This Seiko Sea Horse is in very nice condition, and they are not often this good.  Model reference 7625-8010.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in October 1965.

CONDITION

The vast majority of the Sea Horse models are manual wind – indeed one website says they have only heard of automatic versions but never seen one.  Happily this has the movement code on the dial (7625), so we can be certain this is one of the rarer automatics rather than something put together later.  The movement is Seiko’s calibre 7625E, a 17 jewel automatic only movement with semi quick set date.  The crown is flush fitting to the case, so it is a bit awkward to set the hands via the small crown so you need nimble fingers.  The movement is working well, but it is a little noisy.  The all stainless steel case is good, bordering very good, and the dial and hands are excellent.  The Sea Horse engraving on the case back is still very crisp, which is uncommon as they are very lightly engraved and often show wear.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
