This 1959 Omega Seamaster is pure quality and class. Model reference 14775-2 SC
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1959. These watches were officially launched in Omega’s 1960 International Collection, so this could have been made ready for the launch.
CONDITION
The first Seamaster was launched by Omega in 1948, adding some water resistance to their dress watches and a little competition for Rolex and their Datejust which had launched a few years prior. Decades on and the two still compete! The movement is Omega’s calibre 610, a seventeen jewel manual wind movement that has swan neck fine adjustment. These Omega movements are such good lookers that it is a shame to hide them away in the stainless steel case, but this model the movement is removed via the front, not the back. This aids water resistance (fewer joints, fewer opportunities to leak). The dial is very clean, and the hands straight and true. The acrylic crystal is signed with the Ω symbol in the centre, and has been polished to remove small scratches. The black leather strap is near new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred – this silver dial and case colour is very versatile, and we have taken some photos and the video with an apple green strap to go to an extreme.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
