A manual wind, solid gold men’s Accurist 21 jewel watch with box and paperwork also dated 1959 – the same as the hallmark.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the hallmark on the case back we know this watch was assayed in Edinburgh in 1959.  The paperwork is dated for Valentines day, 1959 too.

CONDITION

The dial does have some patina, but this is evenly spread and doesn’t distract from the rest of the watch.  The solid gold case is in good condition, the acrylic crystal is undamaged and we have fitted a new open ended leather strap.  The box and papers is in excellent condition, but these might not be be original to this watch as the sales price of £10 and 15 Shillings seems too cheap for a gold watch (£231 in today’s money, allowing for inflation.  A Smiths 9k Imperial was £50 back in 1959)

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
