This Doxa Anti Magnetic is an affordable watch from the second World War period, when so many are not affordable.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the seven digit serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1945.
CONDITION
As Switzerland remained neutral during WW2, they supplied many military watches to both sides. These issued watches command quite a premium, and as metals were in short supply most of the civilian watch production was made from gold (gold had little military use, unlike stainless steel, other than it’s value). But some watches, like this Doxa Anti Magnetic, were made from base metal and fitted with stainless steel casebacks. Inside that case is an Aurore-Villeret 110 manual wind movement, correctly stamped for Doxa, which is running well. The original dial has patina all over it, and some scratches, but the deco hands and numerals look nice. Many Doxa watches have had redials, and this article helps you tell the good from the bad. The pig skin leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
