HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Sadly the papers on this watch are not completed. But the brochure that goes with the book on Tissot’s long history is from 2006, and that features a minor variation on this model. As the brochure can not feature all dial variations is it fairly safe to presume this watch is from circa 2006.
CONDITION
A ‘true’ Panda watch would have black and not blue subdials, and of course Pandas only have two eyes, but the term for these different colour subdials is now well understood in the watch buying community so we are going with the majority. This PRS200 has three subdials, with the one at 6 for constant seconds, the one at 2 measures 1/10ths of a second and the one at 10 measures minutes up to 30 minutes. You also have the date function, with quick set, at 4:30. This is an ETA movement that was used in many similar watches from different brands including TAG Heuer. The 60 click unidirectional bezel is working perfectly, just like everything else. The bracelet has solid link construction and divers extension, as well as safety fold over signed clasp, signed PRS200. The sapphire crystal is perfect, as is the dial and hands. Both case and bracelet show signs of being used but have not been polished. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
