Looking unworn, the men’s Raymond Weil is complete with original strap and buckle. Model reference 5547.

Raymond Weil watches are very difficult to date. and we have not found another example of this watch that has sold with sales papers. Some very similar reference numbers do feature in the 1997 Raymond Weil catalogue, but most are a higher number. This is not strong evidence, but as we have little else to guide us we think this watch was made circa 1994 – very tenuously. If you can help confirm or deny this year please do contact us.

The watch is quite striking without being flash. The simple dial, with railroad minute track, may only have four Arabic numbers but the font used is nicely paired with the Breguet style hands. The case is gold plated and has nice cow horn lugs. The branded leather strap hardly shows any wear, and is complete with signed buckle too. The movement is an ETA 955.412, a seven jewel movement found in many brands like Tissot, Gucci, Zenith and TAG Heuer at the time. It has a date feature that Raymond Weil chose not to use, and you can pull the crown out to a ‘ghost’ position which would normally operate the quick set date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. Overall this watch is in very good condition.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
