This Grandville model from Revue Thommen is unusual in that it was rated to 150m waterproof, yet isn’t a divers watch. Model reference 6910004
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have struggled to find much information on this model. Revue Thommen can trace their history back to 1853, but the more modern history is harder to nail down. Given the size, styling and movement used we think this watch was made circa 1990. If you know more then please do contact us.
CONDITION
This Grandville model is a little unusual. It has the rating and performance of a divers watch, but no rotating bezel to keep an eye on your air tanks. It is also much smaller that most divers watches, and on a leather strap rather than steel strap. So it is a quasi diver and quasi dress watch. What is nice is the attention to detail. The horn lugs are a nice touch, as is the signed buckle and crown. The crown is supposed to screw down, but this doesn’t work now hence this watch is cheap. The lume is good, the case is all stainless steel, and the glass is new. The ETA 955.412 six jewel movement was widely used and is still considered one of the most popular quartz movements ever made, and we will fit a new battery before sending it to the next owner.
