This ladies Sigma watch is clearly designed to resemble the Piaget Polo watch, but is available at a fraction of the price.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The movement was launched in 1983, and the adverts for the Piaget Polo we have are also from 1983. We date this watch to being made circa 1984, to allow time for development.
CONDITION
This is new old stock (NOS), and unworn, but not perfect. There is a small scratch to the case near 11 – this may have been done while the watch was stored, or it may be the reason it never sold in the first place. The design is very close to the Piaget Polo, but as this is gold plated rather than solid 18k gold it is more affordable. Inside this Sigma watch is an ETA 978.002 six jewel quartz movement that is time only and running perfectly. The spacer that keeps the movement in correctly positioned in the case is brass rather than the usual plastic, which is nice. You will not find spare links for the bracelet, so please measure your wrist before purchasing, but it can be shortened if required. The enlarged photos show some dirt on the dial and plating loss on the hour hand, but in real life this is very difficult to see with the naked eye.
This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
