HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
While we don’t have the original papers for this watch, we have seen another for sale with papers dated for December 1980. This is entirely in keeping with the styling, technology and fashion of the time so we are inclined to agree that the watch was built circa 1980. That watch was the same model number, and had the same unsigned bracelet too. This website states it was launched in 1977, but we don’t know where they go that information so we’re going for the circa 1980 date.
CONDITION
If you fancy a retro digital watch then look no further. You have a solid stainless steel case on this Rotary, not chrome or gold plated. You have the original bracelet, not a rubber strap that may have been replaced or has become brittle with age. This watch also has the light, which while these were never very bright they often fail and this one works. All pushers work as they should, but the issue is that two sections of the LCD panel are only visible at certain angles. This is clearly shown in the video and we do not have the skills currently to fix this – could be a very easy fix if you know what you are doing. The case only has light marks, and the bracelet is long and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
