This Gyromatic automatic with day date is from one of the oldest watch manufacturers in existence.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can date this to circa 1979 from the styling combined with the earliest service mark in the watch case for 1981.  Girard-Perregaux do not release the serial numbers for their watches but will provide the information for a fee.

CONDITION

The dial on this rare example has turned tropical – i.e. faded to a brown, but with a purple tint.  Some people would have the dial redone, but we like the effect and that it is original.  The bracelet is good, and long, with the original clasp.  The auto movement in an in house design, something that only the top brands can do. The crown is a later replacement.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
