This Certina LCD uses the ESA 9315 quartz movement, and comes on an original bracelet and includes the original instructions.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Although the instruction book is not dated it is quite easy to work out when this was made by the technology, that was rapidly advancing during this period. We have found an advert for a similar Certina LCD from 1976, and we also found an advert from 1977 where the watch uses more advanced technology (you have a seconds readout). We do know that this would have been an expensive watch at the time.
CONDITION
The watch is fully working, including the back light (although these were never very bright to start with!). The LCD panel has no bleeding, and all sections of the display work. The glass is very worn, with chips and scratches. The stainless steel case is worn but without major damage. The ESA 9315 movement requires two batteries, and these will be changed prior to the watch being sent out. This movement was used by a few different Swiss brands, and we have found a collection of them and included the photograph. The long bracelet is a nice quality item, with solid links and a Certina logo on the clasp. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. Overall this is a very wearable, interesting watch without being a perfect safe queen example.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
