This Oris has a great blue dial, which are sort after by collectors due to the changing light effects and the clarity.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Using the production dates of the movement we estimate this watch was made circa 1975.
CONDITION
The Oris watches of the 1970’s are becoming more collectible, as this is an example of why that is. They used cheaper production methods than they do today, and this example has a pin pallet movement and the case is chromed rather than stainless steel. But that keeps costs down today, and if higher horological aims are your thing then we have plenty of Omega and Longines models available, but they will be three or five times the price.
The blue dial is the stand out feature here. Very easy to read, and quite clean – we have included a photograph of the dial without the glass to eliminate reflections from the acrylic crystal. The seven jewel movement has a semi quickset date that changes nicely at midnight and is running well. The case has light scratches but no dints, and shuts tightly. The new leather strap is a perfect match in our eyes, but this can be swapped for a black leather strap if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
