This classic black dialed Longines dress watch has a diamond at 12 on the matte dial, and is in a gold filled case with a manual wind movement.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the watch movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1970.

CONDITION

The watch is in very good condition.  The in house Longines 528 movement has an early serial number, and is cased in the Longines-Wittnauer 69-668 case.  The 10k gold filled case is marked 1200 and USE ADMIRAL WRENCH, which indicates the movement is accessed via the crystal.  The advantage of this is the movement is rarely accessed by those without the experience and skills required, keeping it clean and untinkered with.  Gold filled cases rarely show any wear, as the fill is thicker than gold plate – in fact at least 5% of the case by weight much be gold to be able to use this designation.  The matte black textured dial has what we presume is a diamond at 12, and just the two sword style hands.  We have fitted a new crystal and leather strap that compliments the textured dial perfectly.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
