The term Disco Volante is not an official model name, but is the Italian for flying saucer and describes this style of watch.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Buler started using this logo in 1950, and the movement production date suggests circa 1955 as a likely production date.

CONDITION

There were a series of very stylistic Disco Volante prototypes by Alfa Romeo in the early 1950’s, and it is not clear if that is where the term has transferred to watches from, but if you use it in Chrono24 that site shows results for similar styled watches, round and either with hidden lugs or very short lugs like this one.  This Buler has a machine turned flat, wide bezel that is very nice, and also makes the watch much larger than most of the date.  The case is gold plated, which is showing little wear to the plate but the bottom left lug is not straight.  The strap and buckle is good but not new, but appears to be period so we have left it on.  It can be swapped for a new strap if preferred.  Inside the case is a 17 jewel Ebosa 65 manual wind movement, which is working well.  This is an inexpensive Swiss vintage watch, as it was when new, but a lot of style and fun for the money.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
