This Swiss Helvetia men’s watch has a very clean dial, complete with sub seconds display, and nice feature lugs on the chromed case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the movement production dates, combined with the styling, we can approximately date this watch to being made circa 1948.
CONDITION
Helvetia have an interesting history of watchmaking, going back to 1848, including making many watches for the Royal Navy during WW2. There is a nice write up here.
This example is in great condition. The dial is very clean, with just the smallest of marks to reassure you that it is original. The chrome on the case is all in good order, with a few tool marks on the rear. The lugs are a nice feature, and the fact they are drilled makes strap changing easier. The watch is currently on a nice, if used, leather strap which does suit the feel of the watch. If you would prefer a modern leather strap then we can fit one for you. The manual wind movement is keeping excellent time.
