One of the earliest, military inspired Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk models with original dial and hands.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The Sea Hawk models started in the early 1940’s and their advertising was using language like ‘One every fighting front’ and ‘Once the war clouds clear’, so it must be before 1945.  This model here doesn’t have the name Sea Hawk on the dial, so we believe it is one of the earlier ones.

CONDITION

The Sea Hawk started out very different to the 44mm, 300M divers watch it became in the late 1990’s.  The 31mm case was normal for the time, but is small by today’s standards.  Made from stainless steel, it features a cassette type waterproof system that we have left sealed as the watch is working well.  The sword hands and Arabic dial numbers are filled with radium lume, checked with our Geiger counter to make sure they are original.  The red second hand is also original, and many of the Sea Hawk models had a little red on the dial or hands.  The dial does have even patina across it.  The nylon strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
