The Octo Finissimo was Bulgari flexing their horological skills with their take on ultra thin watches. Model reference BGO40C14TTXTAUTO.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the paperwork, which matches the serial number on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in December 2021.
CONDITION
Making ultrathin watches is still restricted to the very finest makers. For many years Piaget were the best in this market, but Bulgari beat them when they launched the Octo Finissimo in 2017. The movement is thinner than the Piaget – the Bulgari BLV138 was the thinnest automatic movement in the World. The movement also has a seconds hand, whereas the Piaget doesn’t (and extra features add extra thickness). And the looks were like no other watch in production. The sand blasted case and bracelet is all in titanium, so the watch is light as well as thin. Titanium is not an easy material to work with, so the machinery required to make the case and bracelet to this high standard is expensive. The Octo Finissimo is still available to buy new – the cost is £14,500 at time of press.
The watch was a combination of years of development and this was helped by Bulgari buying the brands Daniel Roth and Geralrd Genta in the early 2000’s. Genta designed many octagonal watches for his own designs, and this look helped create the striking and handsome case and dial the Octo Finissimo has. It look like nothing else. This watch will be supplied with the original presentation inner and outer boxes, papers, one spare link and our Certificate of Authenticity.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
