CONDITION
The watch is in perfect condition, as you would expect from a new watch, so this is more of a review.
The Gigandet watch had an RRP of £279. the watch features a quartz chrongraph from Miyota (Citizen), so timekeeping is as good as it gets. A nice feature is that while the second hands jumps each second, the chronograph second sweeps (or, more accurately, moves five times a second to give the impression of a sweep). The case is solid 316L stainless steel, and there is plenty of it – this is a sizeable watch and you know you are wearing it. Some of the 143g weight is down to the 22mm mesh bracelet, again in stainless steel and with a signed clasp. This is easy to adjust without special tools, and is long enough to fit the largest of wrists. While both main hands and the hour markers are lumed, it isn’t the brightest. The graining on the steel around the mineral glass contrasts nicely with the polished shoulders of the case. The case is curved around the wrist, being only 11.2mm in the centre but the curve of the case and the flat top of the watch bring this out to 15.5mm near the lugs.
This watch will be supplied with a the original presentation tin, unstamped papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
