HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork, which matches the serial number between the top lugs, we can accurately date this watch to being sold by the Turkish authorised Chronoswiss dealers in July 2003.
CONDITION
The independent Chronoswiss company have carved a good niche into the difficult luxury watch market, and with the Kairos it was squarely aimed at one of the big boys – Breguet. The styling is very similar, and the quality of the finishing is too – even the guilouche dial looks up to Breguet’s high standards, so why are Chronoswiss half the price or less of a similar Breguet? Well, Breguet have a long history going back to the 18th century, and the other main difference is that Breguet would make their own movement whereas Chronoswiss modify an ETA 2892-A2. This will make servicing easier and cheaper in the long run on the Kairos, as the watch will not need to go back to Switzerland. The decorated movement is clearly visible via the exhibition case back, and you can also see the gold rotor. The buckle is also 18k gold and signed, and the crown is the onion style favoured by Chronoswiss on their watches. The leather strap is new.
