HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1998. However the sales papers, which are not completed with model or serial number, show this watch was sold in 2000. We have no doubt that the papers match the watch, verified by the previous owner who had this since new.
CONDITION
This style of Constellation was launched in 1982, and the distinctive ‘claws’ used to physically hold the glass in place (allegedly inspired by a hotel mirror!). By 1998, Cindy Crawford was leading the marketing campaign and there was a limited edition, with her input to the design but you would hardly tell – the design is right already. This watch has the full bar gold and steel bracelet (you could also get the half bar and just steel bracelets). The bracelet is long and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The movement is a set and forget Omega 1456 quartz, which is ETA based which keeps future costs down. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The sapphire crystal is perfect, as is the dial. The boxes are a little tatty – quite normal for this period in time, but still nice to have. The closest new Constellation can be found here for £4,045.
This watch will be supplied with the original inner and outer presentation boxes, stamped warranty card, instructions and our Certificate of Authenticity.
