Swatch are credited by most as saving the Swiss watch industry, and Swatch Group were so successful that they now own brands such as Breguet, Omega, Longines and Tissot among others.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Swatch release two main collections each year, and this watch, model Double Loop SKB100L, was from the Autumn/Winter range in 1997. It was sold in February 1998, as shown on the original paperwork, so either year can be consider valid for a birth year watch.
CONDITION
The Swatch Access range was way ahead of its time. Designed to make accessing the ski lifts easier for winter sports fans, there is an aerial wound within the case to allow the skier to walk into the ski lift hands free and the barrier would lift. Did you think Apple pioneered this? Swatch did it 20 years before!
This watch has been worn, and you can see signs of this on the velcro strap in particular. We have washed the strap to ensure it is clean, cleaned the watch and polished the acrylic crystal to remove all but the finest scratches. The watch comes with the original box and papers, and is an inexpensive way of getting a birth year watch that is also practical and a clear design (not all Swatch watches are easy to tell the time with!)
