With more than just a nod stylistically to the Patek Philippe Nautilus, this Tissot in New Old Stock condition is quite a rarity.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1983.
CONDITION
At a quick glance on someone’s wrist you would be forgiven for thinking this was a Nautilus. It is not, and no one is comparing the two watches in quality. If it were the Patek Philippe it would be all 18k gold and £20,000, but this Swiss Tissot is certainly borrowing quite a bit from the watch case design. Condition wide this is unworn except for photography, with the case back sticker still in place and just the tiniest mark on the bezel to comment on. Everything else is wonderful, no swirlies, not even on the bracelet clasp. The very long bracelet is unsigned but it must be original. The triple gold look is very bold, and the watch wears slightly bugger than the 34mm case size suggests thanks to the design.
