From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in December 1982.
CONDITION
This is a very early 7A28 movement, and it has had an easy life. Based on the 7A28-7040 model, the 7049 was designed for the US market and features a slightly different bracelet, which this example retains. The fifteen jewel movement is as high end as any quartz watch we have seen – 15 jewels, no plastic parts and completely serviceable. No wonder they are so well sought after. It was so good that it was chosen by the RAF, SAAF and James Bond!
This example is working perfectly, resetting to zero as it should. There is small amounts of scratching to the bezel, but the glass is scratch free. The bracelet is a good length, which is important – many watches for the Japanese market have short bracelets that few can wear.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
