Named after the Cascade bracelet fitted, this Longines is a perfect 1982 watch. Model reference 4842 950.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the sales guarantee paperwork included with this watch we can accurately date this to being made sold in September 1982. The paperwork doesn’t have the serial number on it, but one of the three booklets is specific for this model’s bracelet.
CONDITION
This so fits 1982 that is is almost a caricature of what a 1982 watch looks like. Squarish case, bi metal, bracelet, thin, quality quartz watches really were all the rage. This has a look of a Cartier watch about it, even down to the way the Cascade bracelet links are mounted centrally with one spring bolt. That leaves a flexible, clean look and is very secure too. The Longines 950 calibre movement is a high end quartz, with trimmer and quick set date. It has 11 jewels, so was made for the long term and is still running sweetly. The white dial is very good, as is the glass, and the bezel has just a little lifting to the plating near the crown. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
