The Seiko 5 is probably the most popular automatic watch on the planet, and this one is nice.  Model reference 7009-6001

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in January 1981.

CONDITION

Ask any watch forum what the best automatic vintage watch to get is under £100 and the Seiko 5 is likely to be the first response.  That is because they are reliable, and feature packed.  For example the case and bracelet are stainless steel, not chrome.  The date is set via quickset, but so is the day.  The day wheel is set via pushing the crown inwards, and is in two languages (English and Arabic in this example).  The cases were designed to be waterproof too, so the dials tend to be good.  However the downsides are the bracelets tend to be dirt traps, so we always clean these in our ultrasonic cleaner.  The crystal is also Seiko call Hardlex, and it can scratch – this one is good but still has one or two marks.  Overall this is a good example and nice to see with the original box.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
