This men’s Seamaster, with day date complication, is one of the more affordable Omega automatics. Model reference 166.0211
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977. According to Omega’s own website, this model was launched in 1978 so this must have been an early one ready for launch day.
CONDITION
Th case is called a TV dial style, but it isn’t as bulky as some TV dial cases. It is 20 micron gold plated and does have some wear to the plating and the odd small ding, but it is still very presentable. The acrylic glass has a small nibble at ten, but it is the original and signed in the centre with the Ω symbol. Both dial and hands are very good. The movement is Omega’s calibre 1022, which is working well and has quick set English day and date – the video shows the unusual way of advancing the day. The black Geckota leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or style if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
