This men’s 1975 Seiko 5, model number 6119-8600, has a wonderful silver dial and the in house automatic, day date movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1975.
CONDITION
This watch belies its age. Admittedly we have fitted a new crystal and cleaned the stainless steel case, but we didn’t need to touch the dial. The later 6119c movement is working well, including the double quick set date activated by a deep push to change the day, and a lighter push to change the date (see the video below). The bracelet has been lost over time, but we have fitted a nice 19mm leather strap and chrome buckle to suit. The case is a chunky size for the time, with short lugs extenuating the feeling . All the lume pips are present and correct, but the lume no longer glows. The same can be said for the hands. Overall this is a very nice example.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
