This Tissot Seastar has the most outstanding dial that we can find on any watch at this price point for a Swiss automatic watch.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1974.
CONDITION
The dial is the stand out feature on this watch. The gold semi circles set against a jet black background really do make this watch stand out, without affecting legibility at all. The hour markers and the hands have tritium coating. The movement in this watch is a Tissot 2481. This automatic movement is a very close cousin to the Omega 1481, and they share a weakness – the quick set date is operated by pushing the crown in, and this mechanism fails in both the Omega and the Tissot. So this watch doesn’t have a quick set date, but no matter – many vintage watches don’t either. The case is gold plated, and has a knock/graze on the bottom right lug but that has not gone through to the base metal. The acrylic crystal has been cleaned, the crown is the signed original and the rally style strap is new.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
