HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the dial we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1974.
CONDITION
We are not pretending that Timex watches of this period are the highest quality, or the best timekeepers. But they are fun, and can be distinctive. Non more so than this one. With a one piece UFO plastic case and a front loading movement this watch is dominated by the striped dial, which is surprisingly easy to read too, despite the odd scratch on the acrylic crystal. The strap is not original but new, and it would be hard to find a better combination. The watch has been oiled, and runs at about -2 minutes a day – as we say, this is not high end horology but a great bit of fun.
