A solid Silver Omega de Ville, known as Jeux d’Argent, on the original silver bracelet.  Model reference RS 311.8390.

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1974.

The Jeux d’Argent range is unusual, as silver is not a commonly used watch case material.  But in the 70’s gold prices were rising rapidly, and while some manufacturers turned to steel or plastics, Omega tried silver and it had some success.  There were several models available.  While this was designed as a man’s watch, it would not look out of place on a ladies wrist now either (you can tell from the Omega model code that it was a Men’s (3) bracelet watch, manual winding without seconds (1) and not water resistant (1) which is the first part of the model reference 311.).  The dial lacquer has crazed, which is not unusual and actually adds an unintentional added effect of bouncing the light off in different directions.  The glass is not chipped or cracked.  The calibre 625 movement has been fully serviced, and the bracelet cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, so this is ready to wear.  Here is this watch model on Omega’s own website.  This design is very typical of the time, with watches like Patek Philippe’s ellipse range really being popular (albeit at a much higher price point).  With the case being silver it is softer than steel, so there are a few dinks and the rear of the top left link near 11 is broken, but if this watch were NOS it would be a lot more money.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
