An elliptical Ladies Caravelle that can be positively identified as being made in 1974, with rolled gold bracelet
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1974.
CONDITION
The watch is in very good shape, with the only negative being the acrylic crystal having a crack on the non crown side. This is not really visible when the watch is being worn. The bracelet is stamped for rolled gold – this is far thicker than gold plate, and this example doesn’t show any wear other than very light scratches that are unavoidable if the watch is worn. We have cleaned the bracelet on our ultrasonic bath. The case is not marked as plated or rolled gold, so we cannot be sure which method was used. The case does not have any dings, and the cross hatch pattern on the bezel is pleasing. The dial is perfect. The 17 jewel movement is winding and setting perfectly by the signed crown, and keeping good time. This is a nice watch.
