HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in December 1973.
CONDITION
The immediate eye catcher of this watch is the dial, and the video is the best way to see how it moves in the light. On the downside there is a scratch on the dial – a semi circle as if something was caught under a hand at one point. The movement is Citizen’s 21 jewel automatic, calibre 6001, and it is working well including the quick set date. Unlike the Seiko 5 rival this Citizen can be hand wound as well as automatically. The original signed crown at four is not the easiest to wind though – that’s the payoff from having it not at three and hitting your wrist. The case is unpolished and shows various marks of fifty years as you would expect, as is the bracelet. The bracelet is a little short and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The original bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
