A clean example of the Omega Geneve, and it has the prized calibre 565 automatic movement. Model reference 166.0041.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1971. This model was introduced in 1968, and never came on a bracelet, as shown on Omega’s own website.
CONDITION
By 1971 the Geneve model may have been the entry level model range but that didn’t stop them fitting the same movement as they did in the Dynamic or Seamaster models. Calibre 565 is often called the watchmakers movement, as although you can’t see it they will smile when servicing the watch. The 24 jewel movement has a swan neck fine adjustment on the balance – a feature you will rarely see on sub £5,000 watches now – and also has quick set date. Unusually, the calibre 565 has the quick set date operated by pulling the signed crown outwards – as shown in the video. The Geneve dial is simple but clean, and the black painted hands allow good legibility despite having no lume on the watch. The case edges are sharp, and it doesn’t look to have been polished at any point in it’s 50+ years. The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and crystal. It is not often you find a Geneve in this good condition.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
