This 18k gold case Cyma Autorotor is very nicely finished, with a 27 jewel in house movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the engraving on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being awarded in 1968 for 40 years hard work.
CONDITION
The advantage of presentation watches are that they are often looked after, and this is certainly the case here. We have replaced the glass and the leather strap, but otherwise the watch is all original. The three piece 18k gold case is a good size at 35mm, the crown is signed with the Cyma C, and the lugs are true and straight. The dial is very good, with no real signs of age, and the hand are not tarnished at all – it was quite common to fit gold hands and hour markers when fitting the dial into a gold case. Inside you have the Cyma R.485.2 automatic movement, which is running nicely, and it has jewelled reverser wheels similar to the IWC system. The movement also features a semi quickset date.
