This Argonaut 220 model from Certina has the manual wind movement and great two tone blue dial. Model reference 5201.220
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.
CONDITION
Blue dial watches are always popular, as are Certina and orange second hands, so this was a must buy. The case is all stainless steel, and has various different marks all over it. But the design means this watch can take the knocks – you are never going to bend one of these lugs! The squared off design also make sit wear larger than the dimensions suggest. The 25-66 17 jewel manual wind movement is clean and all working well. The original dial is pretty good, but the hour hand has some patina on it. The strap is new, colour matched the orange second hand, but different colours could be easily swapped if required. The box is in excellent condition. The Argonaut is sometimes overlooked for the DS models, but makes an excellent value choice.
