An early Omega Seamaster Chronostop Jumbo, one minute chronograph with tachymeter scale, full length bracelet and original hands. Model number 145.007
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the calibre 865 Omega movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1967.
The watch dished dial has some slight patina but is nicely original – the hands are faded but correct, and even the hesalite crystal is the signed original. The crown is a replacement Omega signed item – some photos were taken before this was fitted. The caseback is engraved for the similar 145.008 model – this is a replacement that we have sourced, as the watch arrived without the right crown or caseback. The 1184 bracelet has the correct 625 end links and has been cleaned. The case has been polished to remove light scratches but a few marks remain, and the case back markings are nearly entirely worn off. The one minute chronograph starts, stops and resets perfectly. We have found some original Omega marketing material that we have shown here, but is not included in the sale. This model is sought after due to the large case size for the time, hence the jumbo nickname. This example is not absolutely mint, but that is reflected in the price.
