The early Seiko 5 is always a sought after watch, but never more so than when it is in the full Deluxe specification.  Model reference 7619-7040.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1966.

CONDITION

The Seiko 5 range was introduced in 1963, and is still the mainstay of Seiko’s range.  Sixties models are of course rarer to find, not least because Seiko didn’t even officially import watches into the UK before 1971.  The movement is Seiko’s 7619A, a 25 jewel automatic winding only model with Seiko’s ‘magic fingers’ mechanism and a button at three to quick set the date.  Being the Deluxe model, this watch also hacks the seconds hand.  The case is unpolished and the silver dial unrestored, and both have marks but are passable.  This version has the external bezel that looks a little like a circular saw.  The movement rotor is a little noisy, but it is still effective.  The red leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.  The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.

This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
