This 1963 Longines does have patina on the dial, which some people will love and others will prefer to pay more for a mint version.  Model reference 2639-370.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1963.

CONDITION

This Longines watch has their calibre 370 manual wind, 17 jewel movement inside the case.  Not only is it running well, but it is finished beautifully as Longines watches of this period always were.  The inside of the screw down case back reveals this watch was imported to the US by Wittnauer, their US importer of the day.  The bezel is gold filled – a process far thicker than standard gold plating – and has a cross hatch patterning that backs up our belief that the watch has not been polished.  The quartered dial has patina all over it.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and buckle, although the buckle is likely to be a modern replacement.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
