A high quality manual wind ladies Tissot watch in a 18k gold case. This watch is complete with the original box, guarantee and the insurance document!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the original Tissot movement we can accurately date this watch to have been made in 1963. The guarantee card is completed on the date of purchase for 1st February 1964, so either could be considered correct for a birth year watch. The insurance document states a price of £24 – that is the equivalent of over £450 in today’s money.
CONDITION
This petite watch has clearly been saved for best, as many watches that stay with their box and papers for over 50 years are. The 18k gold case is stamped and has import hallmarks, and has never been inscribed. The new black leather strap is a later replacement, and has a gold tone buckle. Nice to still have the original Tissot crown still fitted. The movement inside is a seventeen jewel Tissot 709, which was in production between 1960 and 1971. The dial has small spots on it that are very difficult to see with the naked eye, but do show up on the highly enlarged photographs.
Please see the HD video below for more detail.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
