This Eterna Matic has a stainless steel case with a 14k gold capped bezel and lugs. Automatic movement with calendar.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the in house 1438U movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1962.
CONDITION
The Eterna logo features five ball bearings, which was an Eterna invention on the winding rotor back in 1948. The ball bearings vastly reduced friction, making automatic winding more efficient. The same logo is used today.
The dial is clean apart from one or two very small marks, the most notable is near 2. The gold hands and hour markers are untarnished. The crystal is original, with the Eterna logo on the centre, and has been polished to remove light scratches. The leather strap is new. The crown is not signed, but it sits flush with the case.
