A nice dress watch from a brand you normally associate with brightly coloured divers watches, Doxa. Model reference 10345-1

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being in 1963, but the inscription shows for a long service award for ten years between 1952 and 1962. So it appears it was given as a gift, but late! Geodatski Zavod Rijeka are a Croatian firm of Surveyors, still going strong.

CONDITION

Founded in 1889, Doxa made their first divers watch in 1967 and now that is all they make, having found a good niche in a crowded market. But this watch dates from before the switch, and they also made good looking dress watches. The case is chromed, and this can be a pitfall of an older Doxa as they do show marks, but on this one the marks are almost exclusively on the rear of the case and not visible on the wrist. The dial is very good, but at certain lights you can see some fingerprints. But the dial is original and not repainted. The movement is a Doxa 103, which is an uprated ETA 2391. This manual wind 17 jewel movement is running well. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
