A men’s vintage 1952 Accurist manual wind gold watch, with 21 jewel movement and sub seconds dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the London hallmarks inside the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1952.
The AS984, 21 jewel manual wind movement is in lovely condition and keeping good time for a watch of over 60 years old. Accurist watches of this period used decent Swiss movements, often in solid gold cases like found here, and the modern watches bear no relation at all. The dial has applied gold numerals, and is quite clean save for a mark between 3 and 4 as shown in the photos. This is not a large watch, so could suit ladies or gentlemen. When you see what modern quartz powered watches with gold plating cost in the shops, and you compare to a mechanical watch in a solid gold case, there can only be one winner.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
