This 1950 Bulova has a manual winding 17 jewel movement and a dial patterned into 12 sections in a guilloche style.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the Bulova 10BCC movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1950.
CONDITION
Most dials with this sort of decoration from this period in time are very grubby. The combination of a high proportion of smokers and non water proof cases allow the nicotine to stick to the dial, but not in this case. The dial is great, and all the lume plots are still in place too. The case is not perfect though. We suspect it was originally gold plated and this has been polished off, which means you can see hints of the original finish all over the case. Some people will prefer the polished finish, but we at least make you aware. The crown is worn but still functional, and the movement like most Bulova watches from this period is of nice quality. A new leather strap is fitted.
