An elegant ladies baguette art deco watch from Marvin, in a very clean 9k gold case.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the Birmingham hall mark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1948.

CONDITION

Marvin have a long and happy history, which you can read about here on their website.

This watch has the Swiss Marvin movement, but it is housed in a Dennison 9k gold case.  This is not unusual, as for some years Swiss movement makers would send their watches to be cased in the UK to avoid the punitive tax on imported complete gold watches – Dennison made cases for Rolex, Omega, Longines, JLC, IWC, Tudor, Zenith and others, so we are in good company.  The Marvin 160 calibre movement is running well.  The Baguette case is very clean, and the back has never been engraved.  The acrylic crystal has slight roughness to the sides, but in real live this is difficult to spot – the enlarged photos show it at the very worst.  All is running smoothly and Fix o Flex rolled gold bracelet is very good.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
