This microbrand Morphic watch is completely fresh out of the box, and an interesting design. Model reference MPH7402
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This watch is new and unworn except for photography. The warranty card is not filled out, but the watch was bought in 2020.
CONDITION
The watch is completely unworn, as shown in the video. We have removed the protective wrapping for photography, except on the clasp. So this is more of a review than a condition report.
Microbrands have a loyal following but can also be either too conservative or too bold. For example, Xeric watches are so bold it is hard to read the time, and Steinhart used to be considered Rolex homages. We feel this Morphic watch has the right amount of difference while still being clearly legible. The hands are quite distinctive, as is the choice of orange lume. The choice of positioning the crown at 4 is very Seiko. The bracelet has solid links, but this might look even better on a leather or rubber strap? It is easy to swap the bracelet for a strap, and you can see more option on the Morphic website here where this watch retails for $350.00. The bezel looks like it should move but it is fixed. Not sure why it has a prominent lume pip at twelve then, but at least the bezel doesn’t get knocked off centre like a divers watch can. The box is nothing special, but most people would prefer that any microbrand focused on the engineering of the watch than the boxes.
