HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Tissot stopped using movement serial numbers in 1983, and as this Seastar doesn’t have a serial number it must post date that. We also know that Tissot calibres 3530 and 3531 were used between 1985 and 1987, and this has calibre 3532. Plus the styling is perfect for mid eighties.
CONDITION
When you have any watch that is 35 years old and the worst part of the condition is a few scratches on the glass, that is a pretty good watch. Those marks onthe glass might be fixed with a new piece of glass, but we are not sure if the railway track minute markers are on a separate piece or printed to the underside of the glass, so we won’t risk ruining the watch to replace the glass. The case is good, with a few marks on the non crown side, and the gold plated bezel is very good. The dial is very clean, as are the hands. The movement is keeping excellent time and the quick set date is working correctly. A new battery will be fitted to this Tissot Seastar prior to it being sent to the new owner. The original box has a few marks, but is better than average. The bracelet is very good, and has no slack at all in it.
