In 1961 Longines bought the majority shareholding in Record, and this dual branded Longines Record shows both histories.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production dates of the Record 651/Longines 701 movement, we can date this watch to being made circa 1970.
CONDITION
The watch is in great condition, save for one mark on the cushion case near the bottom edge of the watch at 11. On the wrist this is not visible, but we like to point out any marks. The dial is very clean, and all the nicer for having both brands shown. The matt gold plated case is very clean other than the mark just mentioned. The hand winding movement is keeping great time, and the case back has had a new seal (we did the slight tool marks on the back, as the old seal had stuck tight and didn’t want to budge!)
