HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied original guarantee we can accurately date this watch to being sold in April 1993. We have double checked the serial number on the case back matches the serial number on the certificate.
CONDITION
If anyone has tried a modern Tudor watch they will notice just how thick the watch cases are. The Monarch is a Tudor watch without the girth, sitting at a slim 7.5mm. This is partially achieved by using a quartz movement, but this is the nicest decorated ETA base movement we have seen, and includes a trimmer for fine adjustment (usually found in earlier quartz watches but phased out to save costs in the later 1980’s in most movements. The movement is accessed via a screw down caseback, which is opened using the Rolex tools in a nod to Tudor’s parent company. The bracelet has three screw in links each side and is a solid construction with signed Tudor clasp that does have some scratches. The box is losing the PU leather, but this is common with many other quality brands from this period. There is also a small scratch on the crystal near 7. The movement is working perfectly, and a new battery will be fitted before the watch is dispatched.
