An eye catching design from Raymond Weil, still with the original strap. Model reference 5730
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the hand written note on the guarantee booklet case back we can see this watch was sold on a flight in 1986.
CONDITION
Raymond Weil are unusual in two aspects to their gold plating of their cases. Firstly, they use 18k gold rather than cheaper 9k. This results in a richer colour to the case. But Raymond Weil also gold plate the back of their watch cases, which after a few decades can wear through as it is in direct contact with the skin. However, this watch has the advantage of not having been worn much so the plating is like new. We can tell it hasn’t been worn becasue it is still on the original leather strap, complete with signed buckle, and both are in great shape still too. The patterned dial is very 1980’s, but it doesn’t make reading the time that easy. The glass does has some scratching to it. The movement is a decent 6 jewel ETA calibre. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers, hangtag and our Certificate of Authenticity.
