HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being issued in 1984.

CONDITION

Cabot Watch Company (CWC) won the contract to supply the armed forces in the early 1980’s.  They famously took the contract for divers watches for the Royal Navy from Rolex.

You wouldn’t credit this watch to seeing much active service.  Some military watch collectors like the watches to look as if they have been in the wars, but this is in too nice condition for them.  The hands look original, judging by the way the lume has aged (tritium lume on these, hence the T in a circle on the dial).  There is an even patina across the dial, very light but there if you look for it.  The matt case is good with just the very smallest marks visible, and the same can be said for the case back with the typical strap rubbing marks.  The 20mm NATO strap is new, and we will fit a new battery before it is sent out.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
